Seerat Pershad was raised in Scarborough, Ontario and moved to the Niagara Region in 2016. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in 2008 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2011. Seerat was called to the bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2013.
While in law school, Seerat was the Chair of the Public Interest Committee and competed in the G. Mennen Williams and Ernie Goodman Moot Court competitions. He was also a student intern of the Veterans Law Clinic, which provided assistance for low income veterans for their claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Seerat practices in the area of civil litigation with a focus on personal injury and insurance law. His personal injury practice consists of motor vehicle claims, occupier’s liability, accident benefits and disability benefits claims. He has appeared before both the Ontario and Superior Court of Justice, as well as the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
With a South Asian background, Seerat is able to speak Hindi and Punjabi and is aware of the cultural influences to better serve his clients.
Seerat has been a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserve since 2003 and is currently serving as an Officer with the Cadet Instructor Cadre. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering with the Royal Canadian Legion and playing golf. He is also an avid football and basketball enthusiast.
